Die Nachkriegsmodelle von AMC waren meist als AJS oder Matchless erhältlich. Sie unterscheiden sich durch die jeweils angebrachte Markenplakette (Badge). Bei manchen Singles von Matchless ist der Zündmagnet hinter, bei manchen AJS Modellen vor dem Zylinder angebracht. Bei den Twins haben die Auspuffendrohre zum Teil eine unterschiedliche Form. Weitere Unterschiede sind in der einschlägigen Literatur beschrieben.
